Winter Crop Watch
San Francisco Farmers’ Market at Crocker Galleria
Crop cycles in agriculture are dependent on many factors. Although this is a snapshot of the expected crops found at the farmers’ market , sometimes fruits and vegetables are a little earlier or a little later to arrive than expected. The Bay Area is surrounded by different micro-climates. Each has a little different growing season.
Each farmers’ market varies with number of organic producers, fruit and vegetable varieties, and additional products like eggs, meat, etc.
Ask your favorite farmer at the farmers’ market what crops are coming up, and what the season is for your favorite varieties of fruits and vegetables.
If you don’t have FLASH, view the photos HERE.
Taste the difference this season by enjoying fresh navel oranges, mandarin orange varieties including satsuma, clementine, page, and murcott, pomelos, grapefruit varieties, lemons, sweet potatoes, winter squash (we’re reaching the end), potatoes, chard, kale, spinach, onions, organic fruits and vegetables, Asian vegetables, breads, and much more from California certified farmers and food producers.
Look forward to Asparagus and Strawberries in the near future!
