MARKET MANAGER/PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR

Manage and Coordinate
The Market Manager/Promotions Coordinator is responsible for establishing and achieving results for our system of 14 certified farmers’ markets in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. The position organizes, coordinates and controls work projects to achieve established goals. The position has an emphasis on promotions coordination. This includes planning, developing, executing and maintaining certified farmers’ markets that optimize effective farmer and consumer attendance. The position is responsible for project management of special events and promotional programs which further the purposes of the California Farmers’ Markets Association system of markets collectively and individually.

Qualifications:
• Four year degree in Agriculture, Marketing, Business or related field preferred; and
• Experience producing and managing special events, promotions and cooking demonstrations;
• Knowledge of California Certified Farmers’ Markets, California agriculture, farming and/or produce industry; and
• Skills should include effective time management, effective coordination and project management; and
• Principles and techniques in marketing of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables.

Ability to:
Apply rules and regulations pertaining to managing certified farmers’ markets; speak and write effectively, deal effectively with market managers, individuals and groups, assemble accurate information; prepare correspondence and reports; coordinate promotions and special events. Manage programs of the Association. Produce successful marketing outlets for farmers & sponsors. Must have ability to work outdoors on weekends and holidays and lift 30 pounds.

SALARY RANGE: $36,000 to $48,000 DOE.
